7 July 2025
Wellsense, a specialist in rapid fibre-optic well diagnostics, has made a key appointment to support ongoing business expansion in the Middle East.
Mark Vincent has been appointed to the new role of Middle East Operations Manager at Wellsense, adding over 25 years of specialist technical, commercial and operational expertise to the company.
As one of the original Sensa field engineers who introduced and installed the first fibre-optic (FO) well monitoring system in 2000, Mark is widely recognised as a champion of the technology and a subject matter expert. His experience covers FO distributed measurement systems, permanent FO completions and wireline deployed well monitoring for oil and gas and CCUS applications. Mark has delivered successful projects for international operators throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia and been responsible for significantly multiplying revenue streams in previous roles.
Mark joins Wellsense after six years at Silixa where he most recently held the role of Middle East Operations Manager, leading the deployment of permanent fibre-optic completions and associated data services in the region. Prior to this, Mark was responsible for growing Silixa’s global delivery of permanently installed and wireline deployed systems. An earlier 15 years of commercial leadership, business development, quality management and specialist fibre-optic operations at Schlumberger, supports Mark’s prestigious skill set.
Paul Lynch, Commercial Director at Wellsense said: “We’re very excited to welcome Mark to the team. His impressive depth of skill, breadth of expertise and regional knowledge means he’s the ideal match to support the growth of our Middle East operations as we see demand increasing for our novel bare fibre FLI systems and data services.”
Mark said: “The introduction of FLI to the well monitoring sector has been a game-changer. Its bare fibre sensitivity, distributed sensing capability, lightweight nature and rapid answers provide significant advantages to operators. I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Wellsense to help grow the business and see this technology add value on a wider scale.”
