Halliburton and Chesapeake Energy to present SPE technical paper on the use of FLI (ExpressFiber™) in fracturing operations

Halliburton and Chesapeake Energy will be describing the use of our FiberLine Intervention Technology (ExpressFiber™) in a technical paper titled ‘Application of Disposable Fiber Technology to Evaluate Far-Field Communication and Fracture Performance in the Marcellus Shale’. The paper will be presented at the SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference on 1st February. The event will be held in person at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in Houston, and if you haven’t registered to attend yet, there’s still time: https://www.spe-events.org/hydraulicfracturing

The session, which begins at 1pm, will look at the application of distributed acoustic sensing and strain sensing for completion optimisation. Case studies from several North American unconventional plays will be presented, illustrating the application of fiber-optic technologies for understanding of perforation erosion, cluster efficiency, frac plug intensity and fracture growth rates, supported by complementary diagnostics.

We are delighted that our technology has been selected as an exemplar case study by these leading oil and gas businesses and look forward to supporting Halliburton as it expands the roll-out of ExpressFiber™ in the US.
