The value of FiberLine Intervention for well decommissioning/ P&A - part 1

Why do we use FiberLine Intervention to support P&A operations? The answer lies in FLI's small footprint, range of applications, rapid results and rich data.

For old and shut-in wells, a FLI pressure survey and confirmation of the well’s fluid levels is a cost-effective means of obtaining valuable information. Alternatively, our pre-abandonment well survey and thru-tubing leak detection will provide additional data to inform safe and cost-effective strategies.

By comparing a baseline log of the well in a static condition against when the wellbore pressure is stimulated, we can identify leaks in the tubing, across annuli and cement barriers and out to the formation.

Once remediation work is complete, FLI can be deployed again, to quickly validate the work is effective. It can also determine cement placement and validate top of cement.
